Hello, and welcome to Acorn and Oak!

 

I’m Amy and I’m thrilled that my dream of opening my own cafe dedicated to children has finally become a reality.

 

As a mum of two little ones who were born just 14 months apart, I know how hard it was to find a safe indoor space where I could keep an eye on the children as they played. I never had the chance to sit still for five minutes and enjoy a much-needed cup of coffee. I wanted to create a space which would meet the needs of parents like me.

 

After years of research and planning, I decided the Royal Quays would be the perfect home for my cafe. It offers a central location, good transport links, and free parking. With the help of my two little ones, I’ve created an imaginary world where children can can play and learn safely, becoming a vet, builder, shopkeeper, medic, or one of many other role-play characters, while families can relax with a well deserved drink and treat of the highest quality

 

Fast forward just over a year and the opportunity to acquire the old Splat Centre in Whitley Bay was too good to turn down. Acorn & Oak Soft Play, located on Whitley Road in Whitley Bay, is now our second location and caters for children up to 8 years of age. Still maintaining our values of being clean, safe and relaxing, with the kids in view, and with the same great quality food and drink menu.

 

I want our play spaces to be somewhere that grown-ups can get involved in events as much, or as little, as they want – but can feel reassured their kids will always be safe and visible. But most importantly, I want Acorn and Oak to be where children have fun and let their imaginations grow.
